This is a private reference site, not a government office. It cannot confirm custody, release anyone, post bond, or obtain an official booking record. Contact the correct public office directly for those actions.
Wise County Jail and Records
The Wise County Sheriff’s Office is the starting contact for county detention and a county-held booking record. The published non-emergency and detention number is the safe routing number because the research did not locate a separate booking-record phone line. Open-records requests may be sent by email, mail, in person, or the county’s online form.
For a current county-custody question, use the Wise County public-access portal and current roster first. The portal separates Jail Records, Jail Bond Records, Criminal Case Records, and Court Calendar. A booking-photo request should identify the person, approximate booking date, arresting agency, and the existing record requested.
Where to Direct a Record Question
Use the custodian that holds the record type. The right office depends on whether the issue is current county custody, a city police event, a court matter, or a transfer to another system.
- For county booking, current roster, bond, or a written records request, begin with the Wise County record and custody path.
- For a current warrant question, use the responsible court or WCSO confirmation route described on Most Wanted.
- For a Decatur, Bridgeport, or Rhome police event, use that city department’s own records-request process before assuming the county holds the report.
- For a Texas state-custody status, use the TDCJ offender search, not the Wise County roster.
- For federal custody, use the BOP inmate locator; the U.S. Marshals Service has a separate FOIA route for records.
- For immigration detention, use the ICE detainee locator or the ERO information line it publishes.
WCSO Communications handles county telephone, 911, and radio dispatch except in Decatur and Bridgeport. Text to 911 is an emergency communications option, not a channel for a booking-record inquiry. The WCSO open-records materials route traffic reports to DPS or TxDOT CRIS and fire reports to the Fire Marshal, so those requests should not be sent to detention records.
